About Biskovia and Why We Cover Singapore
Biskovia exists because choosing accounting software in Singapore is harder than it should be. We focus on one market, and we check products against what Singapore businesses actually have to file.
What this site is
An independent guide, not a software vendor
Biskovia is an independent guide to cloud accounting software for Singapore companies. We publish comparisons, compliance explainers, and workflow guides covering the products that operate in this market. We are not a software vendor and we do not resell any platform. Our job is to make the evaluation faster by putting the compliance details in one place.
That means we keep the register narrow on purpose. A buyer in Singapore usually has three questions stacked on top of each other: does the software file what IRAS expects, does payroll handle CPF without manual repair, and does e-invoicing run on InvoiceNow natively. Everything else — dashboards, mobile apps, integrations — sits behind those three. So when you read a comparison here, the first column is never a feature count.
We also mark where a capability depends on plan tier. A tax module that exists on the top package is not the same as one that ships on the package a small company can afford, and glossing over that difference is how most generic reviews mislead readers.
Why Singapore needs its own guide
Singapore's accounting requirements do not map cleanly onto other markets. A platform that leads its category in another country can still fall short here, and buyers who compare on generic feature lists often discover the gap after purchase.
How we evaluate software
We start with compliance coverage: does the product handle GST returns, IRAS filing workflows, and where relevant, ACRA filing support. Then payroll, including CPF calculation and statutory submission. Then e-invoicing, specifically whether InvoiceNow integration is native or added through a partner.
Only after those do we look at usability, reporting, and price. The order matters because a beautiful interface does not help if the tax module needs manual repair.
The products we cover
Our comparison set includes global platforms with Singapore localization and local vendors built for this market. We also cover the managed-services side, because for plenty of small companies the honest answer is a bookkeeping firm running the software for them.
Global vendors localise for Singapore because the market demands it. Local vendors build for it from the start. Both can be the right answer, and the register above is not a ranking — it is the set of names a Singapore buyer will actually run into while shortlisting.
Inclusion here means the product operates in this market and is likely to come up in your search. It does not mean we recommend it for your entity, turnover, or headcount.
How we read it
Why the IRAS register matters to us
The IRAS Accounting Software Register is central to how we frame evaluations because it is the closest thing Singapore has to an official capability list. Products appear there with tax and GST submission functionality attached.
When we describe a platform as compliance-ready, we mean it in relation to that framework, not as a marketing claim. Buyers should check the register themselves, and we tell them how.
Check the register first
Confirm the product appears and confirm which submission functions are attached. A listing tells you the software is recognised; it does not tell you the module is included on the plan you are pricing.
Then ask the vendor
Ask which plan carries GST and IRAS submission, what the setup requires, and who supports the filing when something fails near a deadline. Answers here separate a demo from a working system.
Who writes this
Biskovia is maintained by a small editorial team focused on Singapore business software. We read IRAS and ACRA materials directly, review vendor documentation, and talk to finance staff about what breaks in practice.
We do not accept payment for placement in comparisons. If a product is included, it is because it operates in this market and Singapore buyers are likely to encounter it. Where we are unsure about a capability, we say so on the page rather than rounding up to a yes.
That approach is slower than republishing a global feature list, but it is the only one that holds up when a reader is two weeks from a filing deadline and needs to know whether a tax module actually works here.
What we do not do
- We do not provide accounting, tax, or legal advice.
- We do not file returns on your behalf.
- We do not guarantee that any product will suit your business, because suitability depends on your entity structure, turnover, and staffing.
Our pages explain options and trade-offs. The decision, and the professional advice behind it, stays with you and your accountant.
How to use this site
Four routes, depending on where you are in the process. Open the one that matches your question.
I am just starting to compare software
Start with the comparison page to narrow the field. It groups products by the kind of Singapore business they fit, so you can cut the list before reading feature detail. Bring your entity type and rough turnover — those two facts eliminate more options than any feature table.
I have a specific filing question
The compliance and filing guide goes deeper on GST returns, IRAS submissions, and ACRA filing steps. The e-invoicing page covers InvoiceNow on its own, including where native support and partner integrations differ in practice.
I am weighing software against outsourcing
The payroll and bookkeeping workflows page covers both paths: running the ledger in-house on a platform, and handing it to a managed bookkeeping firm that runs the software for you. It sets out what each side needs from you monthly.
Something is still unclear
The contact form reaches us directly. Tell us your entity type and the question you are stuck on, and we will point you to the page that covers it — or say plainly if the answer depends on advice we do not give.
Keeping the guide current
Singapore's compliance rules and the software that supports them change. IRAS updates its register, ACRA adjusts filing requirements, and vendors add or drop InvoiceNow support. We revise pages when those changes land, and we note where a feature depends on plan tier.
A guide that was accurate a year ago is not automatically accurate now, so we treat currency as part of the job. If you spot something on this site that no longer matches what you are seeing in your own filings, tell us and we will check it against the source material.
Who we are, and how to reach us
Biskovia publishes a compliance-first guide to cloud accounting software for Singapore businesses. The comparison, the filing guide, the workflow pages, and the e-invoicing notes all sit on one register so you can move between them without losing the thread. If you want the shortlist first, start there; if you want the reasoning, the compliance pages carry it.
We are not a software vendor and we do not resell any platform, so a question to us gets an explanation rather than a quote.
